Template is done, for now

Well, I think I've got this layout about as close to what I intended as it's ever going to be. I'd hoped to make this text box-thing slighly less opaque, but unfortunately that also makes the text inside it less opaque and harder to read. I guess this will have to do.

I haven't done this yet, but I intend to write a little entry about Ayumi Hamasaki and explain who she is and why I have pictures of her all over the place. :) That's what the top left picture/link is for.

All the pictures on the left are from her New Year's Eve concert last year, except the second from the top, which is from her 2006 concert tour going on right now (the one my friend Martin went to). The background with the balloons is also from her New Year's Eve concert, specifically at the end of the concert when they dropped balloons from the ceiling.

Update on the deck dude: He never came back...again. B wrote a letter to the deck dude and then asked his lawyer friend to look it over and give him his thoughts on it before he sends it, but it hasn't been sent yet because the lawyer hasn't gotten back to B yet. I guess the deck dude figured if he showed up once and replaced the worst of the warped pieces that we'd let it go at that, but he said he'd come back to sand and finish it, and if he never intended to do those things he should've have said he would. Argh. Deck dude is going to have another stroke by the time B gets through with him. Unless, by some miracle, he shows up and finishes the job that is.

We've had some ants showing up in the house, like they do every spring/summer, and these little fuckers are persistent. B keeps going outside and caulking places on the house where we see them going in, but they just keep finding new ways in. Fortunately, these are the little ants, not the big, black ones. We had a huge infestation of the big ones a few years ago, and I remember coming home from work one day and seeing them crawling all over the kitchen counter and sink. I spent probably a half hour trying to kill them all. Gross. And then the very next day, there they would be again. One of them crawled up my pant leg while I was standing in the kitchen one day and I ripped my pants off right there to get it out. By the time I felt it, it was already up on my thigh. Eeek!

I'm starting to feel nervous about my OB/GYN appointment again, since it's coming up in a few weeks. Hopefully, there's nothing to feel nervous about and it will go fine. It usually does, and she's a really nice woman, so I hope she'll continue to show me some compassion and refill my prescriptions without insisting I go see a specialist. That is my biggest fear.
